SAVAR, Nov 17, 2024 (BSS) - A pickup van driver and its helper were killed as a truck crushed their vehicle in Dhulivita area on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Dhamrai upazila today.

The deceased were pickup van driver Kanchon, 45, hailed from Jamalpur, and his assistant Ashraful, 28, a resident of Netrakona district.

Officer-in-Charge of Savar Highway Thana Saugat Alam said the accident occurred in the area early this morning when a truck hit the parked pickup van from behind, leaving its driver and helper dead on the spot.

Police seized the truck.
