NARAIL, Nov 20, 2024 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced five persons to life term imprisonment for killing a minor boy in Lohagara upazila of the district in 2015.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Shajahan Ali handed down the verdict to Shimul Mollik, 44, Syed Liton, 41, Jahidur Rahman Mithu, 44, Syed Jahangir, 69, and Shamima Begum, 69. All are residents of Kalachandpur village in Lohagara upazila.

According to the prosecution, on September 30, 2015, police recovered the body of minor boy Shahin Fakir from a pond at Kalachandpur village.

The boy went missing one week ago before his murder. Following the murder, Shahin’s uncle filed a case accusing five people with Lohagara Police Station.

Testifying witnesses and evidence, the court passed the order, said Additional Public Prosecutor Kazi Ziaur Rahman.
