SAVAR, Nov 22, 2024 (BSS) - Police managed to arrest Kulsum Begum, who filed a false case over her husband's death during July-August mass uprising, whereas he is perfectly healthy and alive and appeared before the police himself.
A team of Ashulia Police Station arrested Kulsum and two of accomplices Ruhul Amin and Shafikul Islam from Cox's Bazar on November 21 and brought to Dhaka.
Confirming the information to BSS, Ashulia Police Station officer-in-charge (investigation) Kamal Hossain said a team of police, acting on a tip-off, arrested the three from Cox's Bazar and brought them here on November 21.
Kulsum Begum filed the case against 130 people at Chief Judicial Magistrate Court in Dhaka on October 24, claiming that her husband Al Amin, 34, was shot dead while taking part in an anti-discrimination movement procession in Ashulia area on August 5. Ashulia Police Station filed first information report over the complaint on November 8.
But In a dramatic twist, the so-called martyred Al Amin on November 11 appeared at South Surma Police Station in Sylhet, only to prove his wife's evil attempt to make quick bucks from people, threatening them of implicating in the false case.
