RANGPUR, Nov 27, 2024 (BSS) - Rangpur Metropolitan Islamic Chhatra Shibir (ICS) unit today held a huge protest procession demanding trial of the July-August  massacre and immediate ban on ISKCON for brutal killing of a lawyer.
 
The organization took out the protest procession from Rangpur Carmichael College Gate and passed through the main gate of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) and ended at the Modern Mour Intersection this afternoon.
 
Tens of hundreds of students from different schools, colleges, madrasas and universities joined the   procession.
 
Later, Rangpur Metropolitan ICS Secretary Nurul Huda conducted a massive protest rally held at the Modern Mour Intersection.
 
Rangpur Metropolitan Shibir President Golam Zakaria, Rangpur district Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Member-secretary Dr. Jamil, its Joint Secretary Sajjad, Rangpur District ICS (south unit) President Mehedi Hasan, Carmichael College unit President Mehedi Hasan, Rangpur District ICS (north unit) President Mozahidul Islam and BRUR unit ICS President Sohel Rana addressed the rally.
 
Sohel Rana said, “We have ousted autocratic regime of fascist   Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through the unity shown by the student community in the July-August Revolution.”
 
Therefore, the student community will unite again and thwart any attempt to destabilize the country, he said.
 
Referring to getting true justice of every citizen who was martyred in the July 2024 mass uprising, Golam Zakaria said, although nearly four months have elapsed since the fascist Hasina fled away , people have not yet seen the trial of the murderers.
 
The student community will not allow the plotting of the murderer Sheikh Hasina sitting in India to turn non-communal Bangladesh into communal ones.
 
Demanding ban on ISKCON, Golam Zakaria said, ordinary Hindus and ISKCON are two different things. ISKCON is carrying out various militant activities using the innocent Hindu brothers.
 
“We will not allow their militant activities to continue. We cherish harmony, love Hindu brothers,” he said, and called upon the Hindu brothers to raise their voice against ISKCON.
 
 Sajjad, Joint Secretary of the Rangpur district Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, said, "The fascists' cohorts are sometimes coming back in different forms like  Ansar and sometimes as ISKCON.
 
They brutally killed   lawyer Advocate Saiful Islam Alif in a medieval style in Chattogram .
 
“Therefore, the terrorist activities of the ISKCON cannot be allowed to continue. ISKCON must be banned immediately." he said.
 
Mohammad Asaduzzaman, Sports Secretary of the central committee of ICS, claimed that ISKCON is trying to incite ethnic clashes.
 
He said, "I request Hindu brothers to speak out against ISKCON which is not an organization of Hindus. It is a terrorist organization. We will remain on the streets until ISKCON is banned."
