RANGAMATI, Nov 28, 2024 (BSS) - Rangamati District Bar Association formed a
human chain and organised a protest rally in the district today demanding the
trial of the murder of lawyer Md. Saiful Islam Alif.

The programmes were held at the premises of the Rangamati Chief Judicial
Magistrate Court this morning.

Senior lawyer of the district Advocate Moktar Ahmed addressed the function as
the chief guest while Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Pratim Roy Pumpu,
Assistant Public Prosecutor and District unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party
(BNP) General Secretary Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun and Advocate Abdus
Gaffar Munna, among others, spoke.

The speakers said those who are responsible for the death of Saiful Islam are
enemies of the country and the nation and they called upon the current
government to bring the killers under trial and take necessary measures to
punish them.

On Tuesday, lawyer Saiful Islam was brutally murdered by unidentified
miscreants during a clash on the Chattogram court premises.
