NARAIL, Nov 28, 2024 (BSS) - A court here today sentenced a man to life- term imprisonment in a drug case on the Narail-Jashore road in Bashvita area under Sadar upazila of the district in 2012.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-2, Judge Md. Shajahan Ali delivered the verdict this afternoon.

The convict is Md. Biplob Hossain, 38, son of Sultan Ahmed, resident of Bagachra-Satmail area under ??Sharsha upazila of Jashore district.

According to the details of the case, on July 10, 2012, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and recovered 35 bottles of phensidyl after searching his motorcycle under the seat of the bike and arrested him when was going to Narail riding a motorcycle.

A case was filed at Narail Sadar Police Station in this connection.

Later, police submitted charge-sheet against him in the court.

After examining witnesses, the court found him guilty and handed down the punishment today.
