KHULNA, Nov 30, 2024 (BSS) – Police arrested ex-panel Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) S M Rafiuddin Ahmed Rafique from city’s East Baniakhamar Main Road area this evening.

Rafique, elder brother of ex-Army Chief Lieutenant General (Retd) S M Shafiuddin Ahmed, was the Councillor of number -27 ward of KCC, Deputy Police Commissioner of KMP Detective Branch (DB) Md Tazul Islam confirmed.

Talking to BSS, Tazul Islam said, Rafique, an alleged criminal was wanted in a mass killing case lodged with the International Crime Tribunal.

Besides, he was also wanted in several criminal charges, filed at the Khalishpur police station on august 30.
