NAOGAON, Dec 2, 2024 (BSS) - A man and his daughter were crushed under a train near Raninagar Railway Station here this morning.

The deceased Korban Ali, 45, and his daughter Koheli Khatun, 10, were residents of South Rajapur village under Raninagar upazila of the district.

According to locals, Korban Ali, a fisherman by profession and a speech-impaired person, might have committed suicide by jumping under the train along with his daughter around 9:30 am due to a family feud, said Moslem Uddin, officer-in-charge (investigation) of the Raninagar police station.

Santahar railway police recovered the bodies from the spot and sent those to Naogaon Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, the OC said.

Legal action is in process in this connection, the OC added.
