JHENAIDAH, Dec 2, 2024 (BSS) - A team of joint forces in a drive arrested two persons with arms, ammunition and various weapon making equipment from Teghrihuda village under Kaliganj upazila of the district last night.

The arrested are - Lal Mia, 40, son of Rustam Mandal, resident of Teghrihuda village under Kaliganj upazila of the district and Jahangir Alam, 35, son of Nuruzzaman, resident of the same area of the upazila.

During the drive, law enforcers have also recovered a locally-made pipe gun, three round of riffle bullet, one round of shotgun bullet, two rifle shells, weapon-making equipment and cash of Taka 21,550 from them.

On secret information, a team of the joint forces conducted a raid in Teghrihuda village under Kaliganj upazila last night and arrested them with the arms, ammunition and various weapons-making equipment, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kaliganj Police Station Shahidul Islam told BSS

A case was filed in the connection against them under the Arms and Explosives Control Act at Kaliganj Police Station, OC added.
