NAOGAON, Dec 3, 2024 (BSS) - Two people were killed in a road accident when a truck lost control and fell into the roadside ditch on the Naogaon-Rajshahi Highway in the Ranipukur area under Mohadevpur upazila here this morning.

One of the deceased was identified as driver of the truck Suman Mia, 32, son of Shamsul Alam. However, the identity of helper could not be known yet.

When a hay-laden truck was going to Rajshahi from Naogaon, its driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle fell into a roadside ditch around 9:30am, leaving the driver and helper of the truck dead on the spot, said Sub-Inspector (SI) of Bhimpur Police Outpost Akbar Ali.

Later, police recovered the bodies from the spot and sent those to Naogaon Sadar Hospital for autopsy, SI said.

The bodies will be handed over to the family members after the autopsy, SI added.
