BNP condemns attack on Agartala's Bangladesh mission

KHULNA, Dec 03, 2024 (BSS) - Leaders and activists of Khulna BNP today protested the attack on the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission (AHC) in Agartala, India.

Hundreds of BNP leaders and activists brought out a procession from K D Ghosh Road around 12:30pm that ended in front of the party office after parading different city streets.

Addressing the rally, BNP's central Information Affairs Secretary Azizul Bari Helal demanded an official apology from India over the incident saying, "A civilized country can never carry out such attack on a diplomatic mission. India must formally apologize to Bangladesh for this."

"We have one identity, we are Bangladeshis. We are united in protecting the independence and sovereignty of Bangladesh," he said.
He also strongly protested West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banergy's remarks.

Among others, BNP City Unit Convener advocate Shafiqul Alam Mona, member secretary Shafiqul Alam Tuhin, senior BNP leaders Fakrul Alam, Mahbub Hasan Pearu and Abu Hossain Babu, addressed the rally, among others.

The attack on the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission took place yesterday afternoon as thousands of people took out a massive rally in the Tripura capital to protest the arrest of ISCKON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das.
