Rangpur students call for boycotting Indian products

RANGPUR, Dec 3, 2024 (BSS) - Agitated students and people have staged separate protest marches and rallies in Rangpur protesting the attack on the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala and burning of Bangladesh's national flag.

In addition to calling for a boycott of Indian products and media, they have warned that if India does not stop its conspiracy against Bangladesh through shameless false propaganda, all Indian missions in Bangladesh will have to be closed.

The warnings were given to India from the protest rallies of the anti-discrimination student movement, the 'National Citizens Committee,' and aggrieved students of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) at different venues on Monday at midnight.

Member-secretary of the 'National Citizens Committee' of Rangpur Alamgir Nayan, anti-discrimination student movement district unit convener Imran Hossain, its member-secretary Dr. Asfaq Ahmed Jamil, metropolitan unit convener Imtiaz Ahmed Imti, its member-secretary Rahmat Ali, district unit spokesperson Yasir Arafat, and metropolitan unit spokesperson Nahid Hasan Khandaker spoke at the rally held at Press Club.

On the other hand, student coordinators of Begum Rokeya University Shamsur Rahman Sumon, Rakib Murad, Rahmat Ali, Fahim Yalmin, Ashiquzzaman Joy, Zahid Hasan Joy, among others, spoke at another rally held at the BRUR main gate.

The speakers in the rallies said that Sheikh Hasina, the mother of fascism, fled to India and is conspiring against the country through India. As part of this, the Bangladesh mission in India was attacked.

They said if India does not stop their conspiracies, they will have to wait for harsh consequences.
Indian aggression on the land of Shaheed Abrar and Shaheed Abu Sayeed shall not be accepted.

They said the Indian conspiracy to destabilize Bangladesh will be stopped by the students and the public of this country at any cost.

They said if action is not taken against the attackers, no Indian embassy in Bangladesh may remain intact. India must come out of its aggressive attitude because now they no longer have a puppet regime in Bangladesh.

The students and the public will not accept the aggression they are carrying out against Bangladesh, the protestors said, adding the countrymen should boycott Indian media and products.

The student leaders said the interim government should ban the extremist organization ISKCON. Otherwise, India will continue trying to create anarchy in the country by instigating ISKCON.
