JAMALPUR, Dec 3, 2024 (BSS) – The 33rd International Day for the Disabled and 26th National Day for the Disabled was observed in the district in a befitting manner today.

District Administration and Social Service Department jointly organized the programmes including rally, discussion meeting and distribution of articles among disabled people.

A discussion meeting was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner with Deputy Director, Social Service Department, Rokonul Islam in the chair.

Deputy Commissioner, Hasina Begum spoke at the meeting as chief guest. She said under the social safety net the government is implementing various development programmes to bring the disabled persons in the mainstream.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Gen), Iftekhar Eunus, Medical Officer, Dr Sabbir Ahmed, Assistant Director, Social Service Department ,Ilias Mollik and District Disabled affairs Officer, Ishraki Fatema spoke among other at the meeting.

Earlier, a rally was brought out from Dewanpara area in the town and ended at the compound of Deputy Commissioner’s office after parading the main roads.
