CHATTOGRAM, Dec 4, 2024 (BSS) - Members of Joint forces arrested two alleged drug traders with 2.1 lakh contraband yaba tablets from Raipur village under Anwara upazila of the district last night.

The arrested were identified as Abdullah Al Noman, 25, and his younger brother Abu Hanif, 22, son of Abdus Sabur hailed from the aforesaid area.

Monir Hossain, Officer in Charge of Anwara Thana said the arrested drug traders used to store yaba at their residence and sell those in retail prices to the aspirant buyers in different areas of the district.

Terming the drug traders as professional wholesale yaba traders, Monir said they collected the large consignments of Yaba tablets from Myanmar via Teknaf.

A case was lodged with Anwara Thana in this connection.
