DHAKA, Dec 5, 2024 (BSS) – Two cosmetic manufacturing establishments were fined TK 70,000 on charges of illegal manufacturing and selling items  in the district today.
 
The divisional office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), Rajshahi conducted the drive at different areas at Charghat upazila in Rajshahi.
 
The mobile court, led by executive magistrate Arif Hossain, in the drive   found 'Zia Cosmetics' and 'Riya-Roshni Enterprise' selling cosmetics items without BSTI certificates and fined TK 40,000 and TK 30,000 respectively.
 

They also destroyed about 4,000 pieces of fake products and 5,000 pieces labels of 'Zia Cosmetics' as it had been illegally manufacturing and selling cosmetics products in the name of   different    reputed company’s labels without license for long.

During the drive, around 2,000 pieces of fake products of ‘Riya-Roshni Enterprise' were destroyed as it did not follow BSTI rules.
