'July Revolution gives hope to build a corruption-free future' 

RANGPUR, Dec 9, 2024 (BSS) - The new generation has set the example of 
courage in the July Revolution giving the nation a real hope to build a 
corruption-free and discrimination-free society in the future. 
 
"Corruption has spread to every level of our society, which is the main 
reason for creating inequality. To eliminate inequality, we need to change 
our mindset and behavior," Rangpur Divisional Commissioner Md Shahidul Islam 
said today.
 
He said this while addressing a post-rally and post-human chain discussion 
arranged at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium in observance of the 
International Anti-Corruption Day-2024 as the chief guest.
 
The district administration jointly with the District Combined Office of Anti-
Corruption Commission (ACC), District Corruption Prevention Committee (CPC) 
and 'Sochetan Nagorik Samaj' organised the programmes marking the day.
 
Earlier, the Divisional Commissioner with high officials inaugurated the 
programmes by hoisting the national flag and releasing balloons with a 
festoon.
 
Later, a human chain was arranged at the Public Library premises marking the 
day.
 
With Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal in the chair, government 
officials, teachers, students, members of District CPC, SONAK, civil society 
members and journalists attended the discussion.
 
"People first learn about norms from their families," the chief guest said, 
adding that if the parents of the family resort to corruption, then their 
children are also affected by it. 
 
"We all have to unite to build a non-discriminatory society based on non-
communal consciousness and equality," he said, and urged everyone to work 
from their respective positions to establish a corruption-free and 
discrimination-free society. 
 
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police Aminul 
Islam, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Md Majid Ali, Director of the ACC at 
Rangpur Divisional Office Md Talebur Rahman, Superintendent of Police 
Mohammad Sharif Uddin, Deputy Director of the ACC's Integrated District 
Office Md Shaon Mian, addressed the discussion as special guests.
