NARSINGDI, Dec 10, 2024 (BSS) - Police arrested three leaders of Awami League
(AL), banned student organization Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and
Swechchhasebak League last night from different areas of the district for
their alleged involvement in killing of students during the anti-
discrimination students' movement.
The arrested are Belabo Upazila BCL President Sarwar Hossain Apu, Joint
Convener of Upazila Swechchhasebak League M Imam Hossain Sheikh and
Organizing Secretary of Binnabaid Union Ward Awami League Abdul Motalib Mia.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Belabo Police Station Mir Mahbubur Rahman said
police arrested Sarwar Hossain Apu with drugs from his house while Md Imam
Hossain Sheikh and Abdul Motalib were arrested in a case filed over the
attack and murder of students during the anti-discrimination students'
movement in July.
However, they were sent to jail through court on Tuesday morning.
