Creating awareness on counterfeit currency stressed for stopping fraudulence

GAIBANDHA, DEC 11, 2024 (BSS)- Speakers at a function here have underscored the need to raise people's awareness about counterfeit currency to help them protect themselves from fraud and economic loss. 

"Many people do not have the strategic ideas and efficiency to identify fake notes. As a result; people are victimized by cheating activity and might face harassment and related complexities for possessing fake notes. 

They made the comments while they were addressing an awareness raising workshop on fake note prevention held at the auditorium of Zila Shilpakala Academy of the town on Tuesday. 


To avoid harassment and other complexities, there is no alternative to identifying and recognizing the fake notes", they also said. 

Sonali Bank PLC, Gaibandha branch organized the workshop that was presided over by the deputy general manager of the bank here Mohammad Ahsanul Kabir.

Additional district magistrate of the district administration Jahir Imam addressed the function as the chief guest. 

Sadar UNO Mahmud Al-Hasan, additional police super Dhrubo Jyotirmoy Gop and officer in-charge of Sadarthana Md. Shahinur Islam Talukder addressed the function as special guests. 

Additional director of Bangladesh Bank, Bogura Md. Rezaul Karim, deputy director Md. Hasibur Hasan, Assistant manager of Sonali Bank PLC here Shafiqul Islam addressed the function as the resource persons while senior officer of Sonali Bank PLC, Principal officer Jyotirmoy Sarker moderated the workshop. 

At the workshop, at   power point presentation on how to identify and recognize fake notes was made virtually.

Besides, answers to the questions regarding fake notes raised by the participants were also given in open discussion session of the workshop. 

Several bank officials, invited persons and journalists attended the workshop.
