LAKSHMIPUR, Dec 11, 2024 (BSS) - Two people were killed and three others
injured as a gas cylinder of a bus exploded while refueling at a station in
Lakshmipur municipality today.

The deceased were Abul Kalam, 22, son of Zakir Hossain of Sahapur area of the
pourasabha and bus driver Rubel Hossain, 39, son of Sahabuddin, a resident of
Charshita village under Ramgati upazila of the district.

Police said the incident occurred when the bus was taking fuel from Green
Leaf Filling Station in Muktiganj area around 4 am, leaving Kamal dead on the
spot and injuring four others.

Lakshmipur Fire Service Station Officer Ranjit Kumar said fire service
personnel, with the help of locals, recovered the body and took the injured
to the Lakshmipur Sadar Hospital.

However, on the way, injured Rubel succumbed to his injuries, he added.
