RAJSHAHI, Dec 12, 2024 (BSS) - Various political, socio-cultural and
volunteer organisations side by side with educational institutions including
Rajshahi University (RU) have chalked out elaborate programmes to observe the
Martyred Intellectuals Day here on Saturday to pay rich tributes to the
martyrs together with conveying deep sympathy to the members of bereaved
families.
 
In observance of the day, multifarious programmes including placing of floral
wreaths on Shaheed Minar, photo exhibition, public gathering, discussion
meeting and candle enlightening on the mass graves were observed throughout
the day.

On the day, the day's programmes will begin at 10am through placing floral
wreaths on the martyred memorial plaque at the office premises of Deputy
Commissioner (DC).

Subsequently, a discussion will be held at the DC office conference hall to
highlight the significance of the day.

Rajshahi City Corporation will also hold a discussion meeting at the city
bhaban conference hall to pay rich tributes to the martyred intellectuals.
 
Meanwhile, Rajshahi University has adopted daylong elaborate programmes,
which included placing floral wreaths on Shaheed Minar, discussion meeting,
milad mahfil and probhat ferry to observe the day.
 
Marking the day, magnificent RU Shaheed Smrity Sangrahashala' will remain
open for the visitors.
 
Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) and the Board of
Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rajshahi will also observe the day
through almost similar types of programmes separately.
