GAIBANDHA, Dec 12, 2024 (BSS)- With active participation of different
religious and political organisations, a harmony rally and congregation was
held at Gobindaganj upazila town here on Wednesday.
Gobindaganj Thana Police of the district arranged the rally with the theme of
"Oikyotane Gahi Samyer Gaan".
In the morning, the rally was brought out from the thana premises around 11am
and ended at the same venue after parading main roads of the town. Later, a
congregation was held at the Thana mour with Officer-in-Charge (OC) Bulbul
Islam in the chair.
Convener of Upazila BNP Faruk Ahmed, Ameer of upazila Jamaat-e- Islami
Mowlana Abul Hossain Sarker, its Secretary General Abul Kalam Azad, Convener
of upazila town BNP Robiul Kabir Monu, member secretary Abu Jafar Lelin and
social workers Monowar Hossain Razu, Debashish Kumar ChakiKajal, Govind
Kumar, Rimon Kumar Talukder, Emily Hembrom, Syed Al Amin Roni and Monir
Hossain Sarkar addressed the event, among others.
The speakers said that the unity and peaceful coexistence among all religious
communities like Muslims, Hindus, Christians and Buddhists in Bangladesh has
become a model in the world. But, a group is trying to destroy this harmony
spreading rumors on social media, they added.
The leaders strongly protested the recent anti-Bangladesh provocation in
various Indian media tarnishing the image of Bangladesh to the world. In this
context, they also demanded to stop broadcasting fake news regarding the
Bangladeshi Hindu community.
A large number of people from all religion and political leaders of the
upazila participated in the programmes.
