RANGPUR, Dec 14, 2024 (BSS)- Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party (Ansar-VDP) Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud has said Ansar-VDP is working as a symbol of trust and their role is becoming visible to people.
 
“We want to increase the role of Ansar-VDP to ensure public security. In view of this, steps were taken to make Ansar-VDP as a disciplined and well-organized force,” he said.
 
He said this while addressing a function arranged for distribution of winter clothes among the distressed and cold-stricken people here today.

The programme was held at Mahiganj Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Force Training Center in Rangpur city.
 
Ansar-VDP Rangpur Range Director Mohammad Abdus Samad, Rangpur District Commandant Rashedul Islam, Gaibandha District Commandant Shuvro Chowdhury, Circle Adjutant Russell Ahmed, Sadar Upazila Ansar VDP Officer-in-Charge Moniruzzaman, among others, were present.  

About 200 blankets were distributed among the cold-stricken people as part of distributing winter clothes among 1600 distressed people in the northern region, Ansar-VDP sources said.
