THAKURGAON, Dec 17, 2024 (BSS) - The Victory Day-2024 was celebrated in the district with great enthusiasm and festivity on Monday.

The day's programme started with the booming of a 31-gun salute in the early hours of the day.

Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Farzana placed floral wreaths at the Shaheed Bedi in memory of the martyr freedom fighters.

Later, Superintendent of Police Sheikh Zahidul Islam, BNP District General Secretary Mirza Faisal Amin, freedom fighters, government and non-government offices, political parties, Thakurgaon Citizen Platform and various voluntary organizations paid tributes to the martyr freedom fighters.

A victory rally started from the office of the Deputy Commissioner at 10 am and ended at the field of Thakurgaon Government Boys' High School.

Deputy Commissioner Ishrat Farzana inaugurated a 3-day Victory Fair on the occasion of Victory Day.
