TANGAIL, Dec 21, 2024 (BSS) - Two people were killed when a bus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Ashekpur Bypass area of the town this morning.
  
The deceased are CNG driver Sohrab Hossain, 55, a resident of Pathalia area under Kalihati upazila and passenger Pradeep Pal, 40, son of Sunil Pal of Karatia area of Sadar upazila.
  
The incident took place on the Dhaka-Tangail highway around 9 am when a speedy bus hit the CNG-run auto rickshaw while it was crossing the road, leaving its driver and passenger injured critically, said M Saikat Hossin, sergeant of Elenga Highway Thana. 
 
The injured were sent to Tangail Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctor declared Sohrab Hossain dead, he added.
 
Later, Pradeep Pal succumbed to his injuries on way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
