KHULNA, Dec 24, 2024 (BSS)- A ten-day regimental camping of Sundarbans Regiment of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) ended at the playground of its regiment here today.
Main thrust of the training was to enhance the moral and mental strength of the cadets along with equipping them with discipline and leadership characteristics.
Around 474 cadets both male and female from 98 educational institutions from 21 districts in Khulna, Barishal and Dhaka divisions took part in the camping.
BNCC Director General Brig Gen Mijanur Rahman attended the closing ceremony and distributed trophies among the best cadets as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Brig Gen Mijanur Rahman urged the cadets to involve themselves in nation building activities in a disciplined manner by making good use of the knowledge they gained during the training.
Besides, the BNCC members could play a pivotal role in protecting the country's independence and sovereignty, he said, adding: "The training will help the BNCC members to build a disciplined lifestyle both in working and academic life."
They should work relentlessly with the objective of building the youths as competent future leaders to carry forward the nation's hopes and aspirations to the coveted goal, he continued.
"You've a vital role to play in preventing the youngsters from various social crimes like drug-addiction and eve- teasing," he said, adding that the society could be built as healthy and sound through their noble efforts.
He called for devoting themselves towards building a prosperous Bangladesh.
The chief guest also inspected the parade and took salute of the march-past by the contingents.
The cadets were being imparted training on physical, drill, leadership, military discipline, liberation war history, war tactics and armoury side by side with various social development activities to help them get prepared to face any calamity.
Apart from the military training, they participated in various social development activities.
