CHATTOGRAM, Dec 25, 2024 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested life-term convicted rapist from city's Cement Crossing area under EPZ thana yesterday (Tuesday) evening.

RAB officials familiar with arrest said Md Mohiuddin Babu, 35, remained absconding for a decade since he was awarded life-term imprisonment in a gang-rape case filed with Bandar Police. 

Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-7 A R M Mozaffar Hossain said acting on a tip off, a RAB team arrested Babu while he was roaming in Cement Crossing area.

Babu is son of one Kamal Uddin of Bandar Tila area in the city. 

RAB handed over him to Bandar police for necessary legal actions.
