RANGAMATI, Dec 26, 2024 (BSS) - Police recovered the bodies of two missing 
tourists from the Karnaphuli river in Sitaghat area under Kaptai upazila of 
the district this morning.
 
The deceased were identified as Shawon Dutta, 17, and Prionto, 15. 
 
Shilangchhari ward UP member M Sarowar said the bodies of the missing two 
people were found around 7:30 am. 
 
Being informed, an eight-member police team rushed to the spot and recovered 
the bodies from the river, said Shahadat Hossain, senior station officer of 
Kaptai Fire Service and Civil Defence. 
 
They went missing at noon on December 24 while taking bath in Sitaghat area 
of the Karnaphuli river.
