CHATTOGRAM, Dec 26, 2024 (BSS) - AB Party today put forwarded 5-point proposals for developing the port city so that it could be made as a trade connectivity hub for the country. 
 
The party central leaders at a meet the press function here advocated for the proposals that includes introducing city government system with separate secretariat, spend 30 share of earnings by Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) for the development of Chattogram, proper excavation of rivers and canals besides undertaking projects for city area expansion and preservations of hills to save it from adversity of climate. 
 
AB Party Joint Member Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad and Assistant Member Secretary Siddiqur Rahman spoke at the function held at S Rahman Hall of Chattogram Press Club this afternoon. 
 
 City AB Party Convener Advocate Golam Faruk, Member Secretary Syed Abul Kashem and treasurer Engineer Zahid Hasan Chowdhury among others attended the function.

Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad said at least Tk. 10 thousands crores were embezzled from 25 development projects during past 15 years of fascist rule in the name of project implementation as well as just revising the budget allocation and extending their completion period. 

"Why the port city goes under deep-knee water during flash floods each year in the rainy season and suffering of city dwellers had not lessen if they had spent such a huge amount of public money" Barrister Fuad questioned adding that all the development schemes virtually increased the sufferings of citizens. 

Referring to the anti-Bangladesh smear and false campaign by some Indian media after July 2024 uprising, he warned of severe retaliation if any country and individual axis try to occupy even an inch of our motherland. 

"My party as well as patriot countrymen will not compromise when issues of independence, sovereignty and national dignity comes up" Barrister Fuad added.
