RANGPUR, Dec 31, 2024 (BSS) - With the cooperation of the district
administration, blankets were distributed among heroic freedom fighters in a
function held at the District Muktijoddha Complex Bhaban in the city today.
 
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rangpur Mohammad Rabiul Faisal attended the
function as the chief guest and distributed blankets among the heroic freedom
fighters of the district.
 
Rangpur District Jatiyatabadi Muktijoddha Dal President heroic freedom
fighter Md Ansar Ali presided over the event.
 
Addressing the function, the DC said that freedom fighters are the best sun
children of the nation.
 
"In return for the sacrifice of heroic freedom fighters, we got our
independent Bangladesh and the red-green flag. It is the moral responsibility
of the state to support freedom fighters. Today's programme is part of that
support," he said.
 
He said, "It is the moral responsibility of everyone to stand by the cold-
stricken people. The poor and destitute, who do not have winter clothes, not
even a single blanket to protect them from the cold, should be helped as soon
as possible."
 
Heroic freedom fighters Md Jahangir, Nur Mohammad and Sadrul Alam Dulu spoke
as special guests at the event.
 
Heroic freedom fighters, government officials and journalists were present,
among others.
