4 held with 4,049 Tapentadol tablets in Dinajpur, Lalmonirhat

RANGPUR, Jan 16, 2025 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 in two separate drives arrested four alleged drug traders with 4,049 pieces of illegal drugs ‘Tapentadol’ tablets from Dinajpur and Lalmonirhat districts yesterday (Wednesday).
 
“Of them, two persons were arrested from Dinajpur and two others from Lalmonirhat districts,” said two separate press releases, both issued here by Senior Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-13 Flight Lieutenant Md Saifullah Nayeem this noon.
 
On a tip-off, an operational team of the Crime Prevention Company (CPC)-1 of RAB-13 from Dinajpur Camp arrested two persons with 2,099 pieces of Tapentadol tablets from Baluadanga Kanchan Bridge point under Kotwali police station in Dinajpur at 1:45 pm.
 
The detainees were identified as Md Amir Hossain, 28, of village Dakshin Balubari (Phulbari Bus stand) and Md Shahidul Islam, 26, of village Paschim Baluadanga under Kotwali police station of Dinajpur district.
 
In another raid, an operational team of the Crime Prevention Specialised Company (CPSC) of RAB-13 arrested two persons with 1,950 pieces of Tapentadol tablets from Rudreshwar Najirtek Bridge point in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat at 10 pm.
 
The arrested persons were identified as Md Nayan Mian, 35, son of Md Habibur Rahman and Md Humayun Kabir, 31, son of Ruhul Amin, both residents of Dighaltari Majhapara, Police Station-Kaliganj and District-Lalmonirhat. 3. 
 
The arrested persons have been handed over to the concerned police stations for taking legal actions, the releases added.
