RANGPUR, Jan 21, 2025 (BSS) - The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) prosecution team today conducted on-site investigation and took testimony in connections with murders, attacks and injuries during the July uprising in the Rangpur City Market area in the metropolis.
ICT Prosecutor Barrister SM Moinul Karim is currently leading the 12-member prosecution team from last Sunday in Rangpur.
Along with the investigation, the ICT team collected various types of information and evidence from the families of the injured and martyrs and eyewitnesses in the Rangpur City Market area like other places in the district.
At this time, the victims' family members demanded that the real criminals be punished through a fair investigation.
The ICT investigation team said that they will work to identify the accused and ensure their punishment through digital information management.
ICT Prosecutor Barrister SM Moinul Karim said that the murder case of Begum Rokeya University student martyr Abu Sayeed has been referred to the ICT.
"Since we came to Rangpur to investigate the Abu Sayeed murder case, we investigated other murder cases in the July Revolution. We have collected statements from witnesses, video footage from journalists and freelancers, and will do more," he said.
He said that sketch maps have been created by identifying the places of the murders.
"Action will be taken against the accused after the investigation. We expect the local investigating officers to work sincerely and if they want cooperation, we will do it," he said.
