RANGPUR, Oct 23, 2021 (BSS) - Rangpur division recorded 2.29 percent Covid-19 positivity rate as three fresh cases were reported after testing 130 new samples in the division on Saturday.
Health officials said the coronavirus situation continues improving amid declining positivity and casualty rates and rising recovery rate during the last two months in the division.
Earlier, the daily Covid-19 positivity rates were 10.40 percent on Friday, 0.38 percent on Thursday, 1.97 percent on Wednesday, 2.56 percent on Tuesday, 2.72 percent on Monday and 2.42 percent on Sunday last in the division.
All three new patients were reported after diagnosing 94 samples at the Covid-19 Laboratory at M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC) in Dinajpur at the daily positivity rate of 3.19 percent today.
"The three new Covid-19 patients include one from Dinajpur and two from Thakurgaon districts," Principal of MARMC Professor Dr Syed Nazir Hossain told BSS.
"Meanwhile, no new case was reported positive after diagnosing 36 new samples at the Covid-19 Laboratory at Rangpur Medical College (RpMC) in Rangpur today," said Principal of RpMC Professor Dr AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu.
Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Motaharul Islam said the number of Covid-19 patients rose to 55,262 as three new positive cases were reported today from across the division.
"The district-wise break up of total 55,262 patients include 12,457 of Rangpur, 3,800 Panchagarh, 4,438 of Nilphamari, 2,738 of Lalmonirhat, 4,636 of Kurigram, 7,606 of Thakurgaon, 14,729 of Dinajpur and 4,858 of Gaibandha in the division," he added.
