RANGPUR, Feb 3, 2025 (BSS) - A book on medicine titled 'Health Talk in
Stories and Rhythms' written for presenting common and difficult health-
related concepts in simple language through stories and rhymes was published
here Sunday night.
Consultant (Medicine) of Rangpur Medical College Hospital Medicine specialist
and Diabetologist Dr Md Mostafa Alam Bony, MBBS, FCPS, BCS (Health) has
written the book to assist people in easily understanding disease, medical
treatment and terminology.
Popular physician, writer and cultural personality Dr Md Mofizul Islam Maantu
attended a function held at the conference hall of the Hypertension and
Research Center, Rangpur and unveiled the cover of the book as the chief
guest.
Social worker and Joint convener of Rangpur Metropolitan BNP Md Shahidul
Islam Mizu, BNP leader Md Sultan Alam Bulbul, senior journalist and Rangpur
divisional correspondent of BSS Md Mamun Islam, noted writer and litterateur
Rana Masud, Ophthalmologist and surgeon Dr Mosaddeka Islam Rupsha (Dr Bony's
wife) and prominent businessman and accomplished sportsman Hafizur Rahman
Rinku attended the event as special guests.
Professor of the Department of Bengali at Begum Rokeya University and
Director of Riverine People environmentalist Dr Abu Saleh Mohammad Wadudur
Rahman (Tuhin Wadud) was present as keynote speaker.
Dr Bony presided over the function participated by physicians, health service
providers, teachers of schools and colleges, social workers, professionals
and prominent citizens.
While delivering a welcome address, Dr Bony said, "I have tried my best to
present real experiences, the gap between patients' needs and wants, public
medical exaggerations, some misconceptions and strategic mistakes.
He said, "My experiences and feelings led me to present these issues to
readers through stories, rhymes and poems in the book. It has been my long-
standing dream to increase health awareness among people."
"I hope that this book will help bring positive changes in the lives of
readers. I am trying my best to make the book easily available to readers.
The book is now available at stalls 736-737 of the Ekushey Book Fair in Dhaka
and book shops in Rangpur city," he said.
The chief guest said it is a remarkable initiative and innovation of Dr Md
Mostafa Alam Bony to present common and difficult health-related concepts in
simple language through stories and rhymes in the book.
"I believe that readers will benefit from reading the book 'Health Talk in
Stories and Rhythms', which contains such exceptional writing for everyone to
easily understand disease and health related matters through stories, poems
and rhymes," he said.
Appreciating Dr Bony, widely known as a human doctor for showing his sympathy
and empathy to patients all the time, for presenting such a book, the other
speakers inspired him to continue his efforts to write more books to serve
humanity.
