RANGPUR, Feb 3, 2025 (BSS) - Saraswati Puja, one of the main religious 
festivals of the Hindu community, was celebrated everywhere in Rangpur 
division today amid huge enthusiasm, festivity and due religious fervor. 
 
A number of Puja mandaps, mandirs and educational institutions were decorated 
vibrantly and hundreds of devotees thronged there to seek blessings of "Devi 
Saraswati", the goddess of knowledge, since the morning. 
 
The devotees, especially students of different schools, colleges and 
universities, attired in colorful dresses, offered special prayers and 
observed fasting as per ritual of the religious festival to seek knowledge 
from the goddess Saraswati. 
 
In Rangpur divisional city, dozens of images of goddess Saraswati, 
symbolising a graceful woman, were erected at different puja mandaps, 
mandirs, educational institutions and makeshift places for worship.
 
The Saraswati Puja was celebrated at Dharmoshava Ashram, Kalibari Mandir, 
Guptapara Puja Mandap, Samya Sangha on the Rathbari Road in Mahiganj, 
Khhatriyo Samity, Laksmi Narayan Zeu Shiva Mandir, Poresh Nath Mandir, Begum 
Rokeya University, Rangpur Medical College, Begum Rokeya Government College, 
Burima Mandir, Guptapara Puja Mandap, Polytechnic Institute, Technical 
College, Carmichael College, Lions School and College, Samaj Kallyan Biddya 
Bithi School and College, Koilash Ranjan High School, Afan Ullah High School, 
Mahiganj College, Teachers' Training College, Zila School, Dental College and 
many other educational institutions in the metropolis. 
 
The Saraswati Puja was also celebrated at different mandaps and educational 
institutions in Mulatol, Paulpara, Lalbag, Modern Mour, Tazhat, Boiragipara, 
Kallyanpara, Shalbon, Textile crossing and many other places in the city. 
 
The biggest celebration was held at Carmichael College where hundreds of 
students thronged since morning as about 6,000 out of about 27,000 students 
of the institution belong to the Sanaton community. 
 
The Puja was celebrated through offering 'Devi Aradhana', 'Puspoanjoli', 
'archanas', 'anjolis', 'aratis', 'Prashad' distribution, 'Arati competitions' 
religious discussions, different competitions, cultural functions, staging of 
drama and prize distribution. 
 
Similar reports of observance of Saraswati Puja with huge enthusiasm have 
been received here from Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Dinajpur, Gaibandha, 
Lalmonirhat, Kurigram and Nilphamari districts under the division.
