CHATTOGRAM, Feb 5, 2025 (BSS) - Jamaat-e-Islami Assistant Secretary General Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan said hundreds of crores of money are being spent as a part of conspiracies to create unrest in peaceful Bangladesh. 

“If the ousted autocratic power, which almost destroyed the country in last 15 years, can make a comeback and rise their head again, the nation will not forgive you and you will have no answer to the nation,” the Jamaat central leader said at a function here today pointing out the lax role of the administration, adding, “Chattogram is also facing the same situation due to conspiracy”. 

City unit Jammat organized the function on occasion of unfolding it’s central publication titled, “The Martyrs of 2nd Independence”, a 2500 pages 9-volume book containing the detailed information of July uprising martyrs.  

Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan was the chief guest at the function held at Chattogram Press Club auditorium this morning with city unit Ameer Shahjahan Chowdhury in the chair. 

The party’s city and district units leaders including Prof.  Ahsan Ullah, principal Amiruzzaman, Alauddin Sikder, Dr. A.J.M Obayed Ullah and Muhammad Nazrul Islam, among others, addressed the function moderated by city unit general secretary principal Muhammad Nurul Amin. 

Maulana Muhammad Shahjahan said the brave sons of the country have handed Bangladesh back to its people through making supreme sacrifices during July uprising. 

“We are witness what we have seen in 54 years of Bangladesh. We could not build the country for which the War of Independence in 1971 was occurred. The Awami League has done everything to capture and stay in power without mandate of the people by distorting real history of Independence War” he said. 

Shahjahan said July uprising has brought a big opportunity to the people of the country to keep its head high as a citizen of an independent country. 

City unit Jamaat Ameer Shahjahan Chowdhury said Sheikh Hasina is the main mastermind behind the July-August genocide as well as killing, enforced disappearances and unbridled looting of country’s money during the last 15 years of its fascist rule. 

 “At least the trails of the mastermind and her closed allies should be completed before the next national polls, if even other trails are not possible before national polls,” he said. 

Family members of martyrs including Md. Zakir Hossain, father of martyr- Md. Faisal Ahmed Shanta,  Sima Begum, wife of Mohammad Faruk, Ruby Akhter, mother of Engineer Omar Bin Abshar, Muhibul Haque, elder brother of Md. Ishmam, Rahima Begum, guardian of Md. Mahin alias Simon, Sajeda Begum, wife of Md. Yusuf alias Junaid and Jamal Uddin, father of Advocate Saiful Islam Alif among others addressed the function.
