CHTTOGRAM, Feb 9, 2025 (BSS) - Five Adommya Nari (Indomitable Women) have been honored and awarded in five categories for their contributions in their respective fields.
The awards were given at 'Adommyo Nari Puraskhar 2024' ceremony jointly organized by Chattogram Divisional Commissioner Office and Office of the Directorate of Women Affairs, Chattogram.
The award receiving women are: Nigar Sharmin of Kamal Para Union under Hathazari Upazila (contribution to economy), Rehena Sultana of Begumganj Upazila of Noakhali district (education and employment generation), Chemon Ara Begum of Naikhain village of Patiya upazila of Chattogram (social development), Jahanara Islam of Mohajer Para area under Cox's Bazar district and Fatema Begum of Ghonar Para village under Cox's Bazar Sadar (achieving self-sufficiency through courageous struggle after facing indescribable torture at family).
Director General of Directorate of Women's Affairs Keya Khan attended the function as chief guest while Divisional Commissioner Dr. Md Zia Uddin presided over the function held at Primary Teachers Training Institute.
Additional Divisional Commissioner Mohammad Anwar Pasha, Deputy Commissioner Chattogram Farida Khanom, Director of the Adommyo Women Award Program Monir Hossain, Deputy Police Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police Shakila Sultana, among others, were present.
