RANGPUR, Feb 11, 2025 (BSS) - On the third day of the Operation Devil Hunt,
the joint forces have arrested 21 people including banned Chhatra League
leaders from Rangpur division and metropolis.
Out of the detained, three people have been arrested from Rangpur metropolis
and 18 others from all eight districts of the division during the last 24
hours ending at 6 am today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Crime) of the Rangpur Metropolitan Police
(RpMP) Dr. Ashiq Mahmud confirmed the arrests in the metropolis to
journalists on Monday afternoon.
According to police, two people have been arrested from Kotwali Police
Station in Rangpur city and one from Mahiganj Police Station.
They are organising secretary of Rangpur Metropolitan Chhatra League Mahmudul
Hasan Pritam, 25, senior vice-president of Metropolitan Awami Swechchasebak
League Omar Faruk, 39, and a member of Ward No 22 Awami League Montu Mia, 58,
of Rangpur city.
In addition, the joint forces have arrested 18 people from all eight
districts of Rangpur division under Rangpur Range of Bangladesh Police on the
third day of the operation.
Earlier on the first day of the operation, the joint forces arrested 19
people and 30 more people were arrested on the second day from the metropolis
and division.
In the Operation Devil Hunt, 70 people have been arrested, so far, from
Rangpur division during the last three days.
