PATUAKALI, Feb 11, 2025 (BSS) - Twelve houses and three shops were gutted in a fire at Swanirbhar Road of the district town here today.

Being informed, six units of Patuakhali Fire Station rushed to the spot and doused the blaze with the help of locals and affected people after one hour of efforts, said Md. Mohsin, assistant director of Patuakhali Fire Service and Civil Defense.

The fire originated from a house around 1.30 pm and soon engulfed the adjacent area.

Deputy Commissioner Abu Hasnat Mohammad Arifin visited the spot and said affected people will be provided with food, medicine, financial assistance and winter clothes.
