MANIKGANJ, Feb 12, 2025 (BSS) - The ferry movement resumed after two hours 
suspension in Paturia-Daulatdia route in the Padma which was suspended for 
dense fog, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) sources 
said.

BIWTC Paturia Ghat Deputy General Manager (DGM) Nasir Mahmud Chowdhury said 
the ferry movements suspended at 6 am for its poor visibility as the deep fog 
blanketed the river bed. 

Five ferries were stranded at Paturia Ghat and six ferries at Daulatdia Ghat. 
One ferry was also in the middle of the river with vehicles and passengers, 
he added.

The ferry movement started at 8 am today when the dense fog disappeared.

Meanwhile the ferry movement was suspended for 1.20 hour in Aricha-Kazirhat 
route in the Jamuna from 7.00 am to 8.20 am.
