Ban on Awami League demanded in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Feb 14, 2025 (BSS) - The district and metropolitan units of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and Jatiya Nagorik Committee brought out a procession in the city, demanding a ban on Awami League.
 
The programmes were arranged to protest the killing of Abul Kashem during the July Uprising in Gazipur and demand an immediate ban on the Awami League.
 
Starting from Rangpur Press Club on Thursday afternoon, the procession paraded the main streets of the city chanting various slogans and later held a rally on the Press Club premises.
 
Convener of the anti-discrimination student movement Rangpur Metropolitan unit, Imtiaz Ahmmod Imty presided over the rally.
 
Rangpur Metropolitan unit member-secretary of the anti-discrimination student movement Md Rahmat Ali, its Metropolitan Spokesperson Nahid Hasan Khandaker and Chief Organizer Ali Hussein Saif, district Convener Imran Ahmed, and its Member-secretary Dr. Ashfaq Ahmed Jamil addressed the rally.
 
The speakers said that the Awami League men killed their fellow Abul Kashem during the mass uprising. So, the party does not have the right to do politics in this country.
 
Imtiaz Ahmmod Imty said those who have the blood of the country's people in their hands do not have the right to do politics in this country.
 
Rahmat Ali demanded the immediate arrest and trial of the killers of martyr Abul Kashem and the banning of the Awami League, which killed students and the people in the July Uprising.

Terming the Awami League as an organization of dacoits, looters, killers, and terrorists, Imran Ahmed demanded that the fascist Sheikh Hasina must be brought back to the country and given the maximum punishment.
