FENI, Feb 16, 2025 (BSS) - The Feni battalion patrol team of Border Guard
Bangladesh (BGB) have arrested a man and seized huge smuggled Indian goods
including CNG-run auto-rickshaw worth over Taka 95 lakh in different border
areas of the district during an overnight drive on Saturday.
The seized other Indian smuggled goods are Sharees, three-pieces and whiskey.
"A team of the BGB-4 during an anti-smuggling drive in bordering Sripur,
Jashpur, Chhagalnaiya and Madhugram areas under Chhagalnaiya and Parshuram
upazilas of the district seized huge Indian goods worth Taka 95,19,500," said
a BGB release signed by Feni Battalion (4) Commander Lieutenant Colonel
Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain this noon.
During the drive, the team arrested one M Shariful Islam Rana, 22, son of
Mazibul Huq, hailed from Radhanagar union of East Chhagalnaiya, along with
Indian Sharees and the auto-rickshaw.
The process of depositing the seized smuggled goods at the local Customs and
Narcotics Control Department is under process, it added.
The BGB patrolling and intelligence activities for resisting smuggling and
security protection at the border areas are continuing, the BGB official
said.
