RANGPUR, Feb 19, 2025 (BSS) - A three-day divisional fine arts exhibition
dedicated to all martyrs during the 1952-2024 periods is going to begin in
Rangpur city from February 21 with paintings of July Revolution.
In this exhibition, the artists will paint pictures of the fascist regime's
oppression and torture, as well as the country's money laundering in the name
of development.
Once again, the picture of the natural Bangladesh of potential, the hopes and
aspirations of the people and the times will emerge too in the paintings.
North Canvas Bangladesh in collaboration with the Rangpur District Shilpokola
Academy will organise the three-day exhibition at the cafeteria of the city's
District Shilpokola Academy.
Ahsan Ahmed, convener of the Rangpur divisional fine arts exhibition
celebration board revealed the information at a press conference organized at
the cafeteria of the city's District Shilpokola Academy on Wednesday
afternoon.
In a written statement at the press conference, he said that the Rangpur
divisional fine arts exhibition will feature watercolor and acrylic
paintings, drawings and sketches, miniature sculptures, terracotta and
calligraphy.
The exhibition will feature 108 paintings by 52 artists from the country,
selected by renowned artist Professor Alauddin Ahmed.
Begum Rokeya University Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Showkat Ali will
inaugurate the three-day divisional fine arts exhibition as the chief guest
on February 21 at 3:30 pm.
Artists Habib Ullah Bahar, Soumen Chowdhury and Farhadul Alam Sabuj from
Chattogram, artists MD Rajan and Dharma Narayan Roy from Mymensingh, artists
Ziaul Haque and MA Ahad Palash from Sylhet, artists from Rajshahi University
including Samia Rahman, Ritu Pramanik, Munem Shahariar, Sutapa Barman and
Tamanna Yasmin, artists from Dhaka Emon Ali, Anha Mou, Tiger Nazir and Arun
Kumar Barman, Bogura Art College's Sayeed Malitha, Keyayet Ullah, Gazi Asha
Anik Roy and many others will participate in the exhibition.
Rangpur Divisional Fine Arts Exhibition Organizing Committee Convener and
District Cultural Officer KM Arifuzzaman, Advisor Chowdhury Mahmudunnabi
Dollar, Joint Convener Mizanur Rahman Misu, Member-secretary Jahangir Kabir,
Joint Member-secretary Mahmudunnabi Babul, Palash Kanti Nag and others were
present at the press conference.
