RANGPUR, Feb 22, 2025 (BSS) - Adviser to BNP Chairperson Abul Khair Bhuiyan
today demanded announcement of a roadmap for early elections to hand over
power to the elected government for resolving the prevailing problems to
bring order in the country.

"The law and order situation has deteriorated extremely, and the prices of
daily necessities have gone beyond reach of the common man. Only the
representatives elected by the people can handle this situation," he said.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at a huge public rally
organized by Rangpur District BNP at the city's Public Library Ground on
Saturday afternoon.

The district BNP organized the public rally with public demands like stopping
delay in announcing a road map for early elections, taking effective measures
to prevent extreme deterioration of law and order, bringing prices of daily
necessities to a bearable level and confronting the conspiracy of fascism.

Presided over by district BNP convener Md Saiful Islam, its member-secretary
Md Anisur Rahman Laku moderated the rally.

BNP's Rangpur divisional joint organizing secretary Md Abdul Khalek, BNP
central executive committee member Sahida Rahman Joytsna, Kawnia upazila BNP
president Emdadul Haque Bharasa, Mohila Dal central committee member Advocate
Rezeka Sultana Fensi, District Jubo Dal president Nazmul Alam Naju, District
Swechchasebak Dal convener Al Imran Sujan, District Sramik Dal member
secretary Shamim Mia, District Chhatra Dal convener Sharif Newaz Joha,
Pirgachha upazila BNP President Aminul Islam Ranga, Badarganj upazila BNP
President Professor Paritosh Chakraborty, among others, addressed the rally.

Expressing strong anger over the extreme deterioration of the law and order
situation in the country under the interim government, BNP Chairperson's
Adviser Abul Khair Bhuiyan said, murders, kidnappings are rampant in the
country.

"People do not have minimum security. Extreme unrest is going on in the
country.

This government has completely failed," he said, adding that BNP demands
early parliamentary elections for this reason.

Abul Khair Bhuiyan said that Hasina did not fall in the July-August movement
alone. At the end of a long-standing movement, the anti-discrimination
student movement, the general public and the BNP brought about Hasina's
downfall.

"It's architect was BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman. All political parties
admit this. However, now some people are opposing this for their own
interests," he said.

He said that fascist Hasina has embezzled the money of the people, killed
innocent people, enforced disappearance and created a mirror house.

"Fascist Hasina tried to turn the country into a dependent state by selling
the interests, independence and sovereignty of the people of the country. She
has left nothing but selling the flag of Bangladesh," he said.

He said, "Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman declared the country's independence,
waged the liberation war, and we have to protect our independence and
sovereignty."

"After Major Ziaur Rahman declared independence, the Liberation War
officially began in the country, which is internationally recognized," he
said.

Earlier, thousands of leaders and activists of BNP and its associate bodies
from different upazilas and unions had come to the rally venue chanting
various slogans in separate processions since noon surrounding the rally.
