JHENAIDAH, Feb 24, 2025 (BSS) - A three-day Agricultural Technology Fair- 2025 began in Jhenaidah aimed at creating awareness among the farmers about new agricultural technology and innovations.
Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) under the project “Sustainable Agricultural Extension in Jashore region” organised the fair highlighting the real picture of the modern and environment friendly agricultural technology.
Deputy Commissioner, Jhenaidah Mohammad Abdul Awal inaugurated the fair at the Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila Parishad premises this morning as the chief guest.
Deputy Director of the Department of District Agricultural Extension Shoshthe Chandra Roy, Sadar Upazila UNO Raziya Akhtar Chowdhury and Upazila Agriculture Officer Nur A Nabi attended the inaugural function as special guests.
Mushroom farmer Tushar Hossain, who participated in the fair, said in addition to learning about new technologies, he also got ideas from the fair about the support of various public and private organizations.
Stalls were set up at the fair to display modern vegetable and fruit crops, use of drone technology in agriculture, techniques of potato preservation, mushroom cultivation and mushroom seed production and modern irrigation systems, roof gardens, use of technology in flower cultivation, draught and flood tolerant crop production, organic fertilizer production and displaying of smart agricultural machinery.
Marginal farmers, researchers, agricultural officers and people of various levels participated in the fair.
Officials from various government departments were also present.
