JASHORE, Feb 26, 2025 (BSS) - The government has been implementing a four-year project involving Taka 371 crore for modernizing its 13 fisheries farms across the country.
Additional Director General (ADG) of the Fisheries Directorate Md Zia Haidar Chowdhury today disclosed it while addressing a workshop here today as the chief guest.
Chaired by District Fisheries Officer (DFO) Jashore Sarkar Rafiqul Alam, the workshop was addressed, among others, by Project Director of the Project Md Moshiur Rahman, Deputy Director (DD) of the Department of Fisheries, Khulna Division Md Jahangir Alam and Senior Assistant Director of the fisheries Directorate Mahbubur Rahman.
After completion of the project titled ‘Structural development for enhancing the capability and production of the government hatcheries,’ fish production in the project areas will increase up to 30 percent, the ADG said.
Fish production in the demonstrated farms will be increased enough after completion of the project, he said. “If the project is become successful in the farms under public sector, it would be expanded further in the private sector too,” he added.
