BOGURA, March 1, 2025 (BSS) - A mother and daughter were hacked to death 
in their house at Subgram village under Bogura Sadar upazila last night.

Daughter Sakhina Begum, 35, died on the spot and mother, Anwara Begum, 58, 
died this morning while undergoing treatment at Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical 
College Hospital in Bogura. 

Their bodies have been kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy, said Inspector 
(Investigation) of Bogura Sadar Police Station, Moin Uddin. 

Police and relatives said Sakhina was married to Rubel Hossain of Akashtara 
village in Sadar upazila 7 years ago. But due to family disputes, they separated 
about a month ago. On Friday night, Rubel went to his ex-wife’s house and 
locked into an altercation. At one stage of their altercation, Rubel stabbed 
Sakhina with a sharp weapon and she died on the spot. Sakhina's mother Anwara 
Begum was also stabbed and injured when she tried to stop them. 

Hearing the screams of the mother and daughter, locals rescued them and took 
them to the hospital. Police is trying to arrest those involved with the incident.
