RAJSHAHI, March 2, 2025 (BSS) – Eminent banker Wahida Begum has joined Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) as its Managing Director (MD). 
 
Prior to new assignment, she was the Deputy Managing Director (DMD) of the state owned Agrani Bank and Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank, a RAKUB press release said here today. 
 
She is the first-ever female MD of the state owned specialised commercial bank   in its 38 years history.
 
Wahida Begum started her banking career as senior officer in Rupali Bank  in 1998 and worked at different branches and divisions in the bank before promoted to the deputy managing director.
 
She obtained his graduation and post-graduation degrees in the Economics department from Jahangirnagar University.

Born in a respectable Muslim family in Begumganj Upazila in Noakhali District, Wahida Begum participated in various training, workshops, seminars and symposiums in home and abroad during her long banking career.
