CHATTOGRAM, Mar 2, 2025 (BSS) – The district administration and Department of Livestock Services (DLS) have started of selling of milk, eggs, meat and fish at affordable prices in the port city today.
Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram Farida Khanom inaugurated the programme as chief guest at city’s Kotwali area today.
Liquid milk is being sold at Tk 80 per litre, beef at Tk 600 per kg, mutton at Tk 900 per kg, dressed broiler at Tk 250 per kg while per piece egg at Tk 9.17. The programme will continue throughout the month of Ramadan.
Meanwhile, Market Monitoring Taskforce of Chattogram District Administration today conducted a massive campaign and mobile court to keep the prices of essential commodities stable in city’s Riazuddin Bazar area during holy month of Ramadan.
Special surveillance was carried out in shops selling daily necessities and all sellers were warned against hoarding of commodities. Assistant Director of the Department of Consumer Rights Protection Md. Anisur Rahman was present on the occasion. Journalists from various print and electronic media were also present.
