NILPHAMARI, March 3, 2025 (BSS) - A month-long iftar distribution programme has been started among the laborers, homeless and low-income people in the district.
The District Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has taken this initiative in cooperation with the local administration.
On the first day of Ramadan, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nairuzzaman inaugurated the programme at the Chowrangi intersection of the city on Sunday afternoon.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Jyoti Bikash Chandra, Anti-Discrimination Student Movement District Committee Convener Syed Mehedi Hasan, CAB President Gauhar Rizvi and others were present at the time.
Anti-Discrimination Student Movement District Convener Syed Mehedi Hasan said, "On the first day of Ramadan, a month-long iftar distribution program has been inaugurated with the cooperation of the local administration. In this program, we will distribute iftar items among more than a hundred laborers and homeless people at different points of the town throughout the month."
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Nairuzzaman said that under the same program, iftar will be distributed to more than a hundred low-income people every day at various points in the district town throughout the month of Ramadan.
