CUMILLA, March 3, 2025 (BSS) - Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive seized Indian illegal mehendi, cigarettes and fireworks worth Taka about 50 lakh from Bibir Bazar area of Adarsh Sadar Upazila of the district early this morning.

A special patrol team of Bibir Bazar BOP conducted an anti-smuggling drive in the border area around 5.30 am and seized the illegal goods, said Lt. Col. AM Zahid Parvez, Commander of Cumilla BGB-10 Battalion (10 BGB), this afternoon.

During the operation, 15,856 packets mehendi, 225 packets of cigarettes and 123,679 illegal Indian fireworks of various types were seized.

The estimated value of the seized goods is Taka 50,04,049.

BGB Commander Lt. Col. AM Zahid Parvez said that the seized goods will be deposited to the customs after the legal process.
